His extensive background in both academic and development research equips him with the technical skills necessary for successfully conducting this study. He has led numerous studies, including feasibility and baseline surveys (such as KAPB and vulnerability surveys), impact assessments, and program evaluations across various sectors, including climate change, agriculture, rural livelihoods, food security, household economic strengthening, HIV/AIDS, health, education, and gender. A seasoned expert in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, he has managed large-scale, multi-country research projects involving vast datasets for organizations such as Oxfam GB and FANRPAN.

He has also led research teams at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the University of South Africa. His country experience includes Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia, Nigeria and Afghanistan. Dr. Chipfupa is a member of the Bioenergy Sector Technical Working Group under the Climate Bond Initiative and is proficient in real-time data collection and management technologies, including KoBoToolbox, SurveyCTO, and ODK. He is also a member of the Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa (AEASA). His expertise in action research, programme reviews, and data analytics makes him a valuable asset for UBAS, ensuring rigorous and methodologically sound research processes.
